Financialservices company Legal & General has used an effective partnershipagreement with the MSF union to introduce major changes in the business withminimum disruption.DavidPullinger, head of training and development for Legal & General, said thefirm has been able to introduce flexible working arrangements smoothly becauseof the partnership deal signed with the MSF in 1997. The same deal also helpedLegal & General move from Hove to Cardiff.DigbyJacks, financial services sector secretary for the MSF, commented, “Thereis a deep mutual trust between the company and the union. The union wants Legal& General’s business strategy to succeed and the company expects MSF tomake a contribution towards that end.”Thewinners are going to be first and foremost our customers, I’m sure ourshareholders will not be sorry either, but the real winners are the members ofstaff that I represent.”last_img
