Intermoia Leads West Florida to Victory

first_img Oct. 8, 2007 Box Score  MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Led by a pair of goals from Nolan Intermoia, West Flordia (11-1-0, 3-0-0 GSC) remained unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play as they bested Christian Brothers (7-4-1, 0-2-1 GSC) 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field on the Buccaneers campus.Intermoia first goal came in the 38th minute when he headed in free kick sent in by Ben Woodland, giving the Argonauts a 1-0 halftime lead.The action turn physical in the second half with 23 of the game’s 30 fouls and four of the game’s five yellow cards coming in the final 45 minutes.Intermoia’s second goal of the fixture came in the 83rd minute of action. The Pensacola native carried the ball down the field and laid the ball to Jay Mainville at the top of the box. Mainville returned it after Intermoia who made an overlapping run and dribbled the keeper for the goal. It is Intermoia’s third goal in the last two contests.West Florida has not lost on the road this season in six matches one shy of the school record set in 2001. The Argonauts have not lost since their opening match a span of 11 games two away from the record set last season.The Argonauts will remain on the road for the next two matches as they travel to Alabama-Huntsville on Friday and Delta State on Sunday. “Live Stats” will be available for both matches.
