Ellsworth High School unveils 2019 fall sports schedule

first_img Ellsworth runners compete in virtual Boston Marathon – September 16, 2020 ELLSWORTH — The first competitions are still more than a month away, but the Ellsworth football, soccer, volleyball, cross-country and golf teams know when and where they’ll play in 2019 after the school unveiled its fall sports schedule Friday.Below is a list of Ellsworth’s games, matches and meets for the upcoming fall sports season, which will begin with the first day of practices Aug. 19. Times and dates for all events are subject to change.FootballAfter seven years of 11-man football, Ellsworth/Sumner has switched to the eight-man version of the sport for the 2019 season. The Eagles also enjoyed a strong campaign on the boys’ side, placing third at regionals and seventh at states.With seven girls and eight boys back from last year’s squads and a big crop of freshman incoming, Ellsworth is poised for a solid year again in 2019.
